Kankakee County Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon

Outstanding Volunteers of Kankakee County

Kankakee County is blessed with a multitude of people who volunteer.  This is your opportunity to recognize one of those rare and special individuals who consistently comes to the aide of others, either through area organizations or working directly with people in the community.

We invite you to start this new year by taking time to think about someone you believe has been vital to the success of your organization or cause through outstanding volunteer service.

The Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley and Pledge for Life Partnership once again join the United Way of Kankakee County in celebrating the achievements of outstanding community volunteers at the 24th Annual Kankakee County Volunteer Recognition Luncheon to be held on April 20, 2012, at the Kankakee Country Club.  This special event, originally established by the Junior League of Kankakee County in 1989, has been instrumental in recognizing the broad and significant impact of volunteerism in Kankakee County for the past 23 years.

You are cordially invited to nominate an individual (or couple) who has displayed outstanding volunteer service and is an inspiration to others.  Nominations for Outstanding Volunteers are being accepted in the following categories:  Arts and Culture, Civic, Education, Environment, Health, Sports and Recreation, Religious/Spiritual, Social Services and Youth Volunteer (volunteer 21 years of age or less).

The Volunteer Recognition Committee will review applications and select a minimum of five winners, plus one youth winner (age 21 and younger).   Previous winners are not eligible to win again.  Only one nomination will be accepted per organization.  Nominees must either live in Kankakee County or provide their volunteer services in Kankakee County.

A nominating form is available to download from this website; you will find it at the bottom of this page and also under the Resources tab to the left.

Nominations must include a completed and signed 2012 Nomination Form.  All nominations must be received no later than March 9, 2012. Nominations may be emailed as an attachment to volunteerk3co@yahoo.com, or they may be mailed to Alice Argyelan, 720C grove Way, Bourbonnais, IL  60914.

For additional information or inquiries, you may email us directly @ volunteerk3co@yahoo.com, contact anyone at the three sponsoring organizations:  the United Way of Kankakee County, the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley and the Pledge for Life Partnership, or call Deb Baron, Event Co-Chairperson, at 815.932.2819.
